HOW CAN I HELP?

As Parents and Residents of Mt. Vernon, your support goes a long way. There are several ways to show that you believe the School Monitors deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, including signing our petition to the School Board, attending our community rally (see our events page for more information), and speaking at a School Board Meeting. You, and your friends, family, and neighbors can and will make a difference as the Mount Vernon School Monitors fight for a fair union contract.

Mount Vernon’s School Monitors Put Our Children First. It’s Time the School District Do the Same for Them.

Our school is full of dedicated men and women who ensure that our children are receiving not only a quality education, but also a safe one. Unfortunately, all too often they go unrecognized.

The school monitors work hard each and every day in the cafeteria and the schoolyard. They have earned dignity and respect; something I know first hand as a parent and advocate for our schools.

I call on the Mt. Vernon School District to negotiate a fair contract for that includes better wages and paid sick and personal time. School monitors are an integral part of our schools and our community and it is time we showed them that we value their commitment to our children.
