Our fight for a fair contract has been ongoing since last year. In June, we hosted a successful community rally to show Mount Vernon’s support for our school monitors, which was attended by local parents, teachers, and members of other unions.
We’ve also attended several School Board Meetings to call on the School District to negotiate a fair contract that recognizes the value of the work of our School Monitors. Unfortunately, despite support from the community, we are still fighting for improved wages and paid time off.
